The Neuse River Valley Model railroad club on the New Hope Valley railway (address is 3900 Bonzal rd, NewHill) will happen on the 28th of July. This is New Hope Valley’s Brew and Choo’s and Ice Cream social train ride. Meaning there will be sandwich vendors, a local brewery, a local Vineyard and most importantly a local ice cream shop selling their wares to go along with an incredible G scale lay out and a roughly one hour train ride in the beautiful north carolina countryside. The train leave at 11am, 12:15, 1:45 and 3:00.I would like to shoot for the 11am ride for the club as it will be the coolest time of the then. Please respond to me with your preference and with how many will attend. Tickets are $14 for adults, $13 for seniors and $12 for children. If we get enough of a response this could reduce by $2. Price does include two free scoops of ice cream. Please help our club help their club and enjoy a great afternnoon doing it. I will be working the G scale layout that day so look for me at the station house that day.-Scott Gagnon

The after meeting program will include: An introduction to the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Launchpad, Beaglebone and other single-board computers and microcontroller starter boards that are used to great effect to sense and control a multitude of things. Don’t worry about knowing anything about electronics or programming, as the purpose of these boards is to make those worlds available to the uninitiated using a simplified programming environment and inexpensive electronic parts and easy to learn concepts.
